Exploring New Zealand's South Island in a Motorhome

Seasoned kiwi travellers, Neil and Renee decided to ‘fly the nest’ after the kids had, and share their experiences and favourite destinations via their Youtube channel. They travel the world by plane, train and campervan.
In one of their latest videos, Neil and Renee explore New Zealand’s Winter Wonderland – the incredibly beautiful South Island. That’s not to say New Zealand’s South Island isn’t just as stunning in Autumn (Fall), Spring or Summer, but the winter season is renowned for world-class skiing conditions and lots of festivals. Near the bottom of the South Island, you will find Queenstown – an adrenalin junkie’s paradise. This is the country where the mad idea of bungy jumping began and Queenstown does it in style. You can also scream your lungs out on a giant swing, be catapulted into the air, ride a zip, jetboat through river canyons, handglide, target shoot, go-kart and drive some fast cars. And that’s without mentioning the fun you enjoy on the snowy mountains. For a slower pace, take the Skyline gondola to the restaurant at the top with sweeping views of Queenstown.
Their journey from Christchurch and further South takes viewers through the unbeatable scenery, including Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki, Wanaka, Cardrona and Arrowtown.
Though in this instance they rented a campervan, the video gives you an idea of the top spots worth noting if you have your own personal campervan (motorhome). It’s the freedom of stopping whenever, wherever you want, creating memories along the way.
